The significance of Gandhi Jayanti

Gandhi Ji has some significant contributions to the Indian independence movement.

Gandhi Ji has first initiated the civil disobedience (Satyagraha) war which led the British to leave India.

The basic meaning of civil disobedience means boycotting government organizations, foreign goods, and an initiative to make self-government.

The non-cooperation movement was the first unsuccessful attempt by Gandhi Ji to fight British torture again.

During 1920 -1922 Gandhi Ji and his national congress team started to boycott foreign goods and inspired the people to build self-government by being self-dependent.

Another vital movement led by Gandhi Ji was the Dandi march or salt movement to protest the tax on salt.

Farmers were imposed a large amount of tax by the British-led government.

Gandhi Ji's 240-kilometer walk on foot to the ocean strengthened the base of a long fight against British torture.

Khadi is a handwoven fabric made of cotton.

Gandhi Ji urged every Indian to spin the thread on a charkha to process the hand-crafted textile.

Quit India movement was the most important act of civil disobedience led by Gandhi Ji in 1942.

Gandhi Ji made it noticeably clear that time had come to remove the British from power and establish our own free India.

As a result, the British government took drastic action against numerous freedom fighters, and many were imprisoned for three to four years.

The meaning of “satyagraha" was an insistence on truth.

Gandhi Ji was successful in inspiring the people and created a fire on the nation's mind.

Gandhi Ji was the pillar of strength for the people to fight against the solid British power.

So, Gandhi Jayanti is a day to remember Gandhi Ji's struggle to bring freedom for India.

This day also pays tribute to thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their valuable lives for India's freedom.

Conclusion

The nation will not only celebrate his born date by doing cultural activities but also remember his ideology of life.

Students must follow his simplistic approach towards life and truthfulness to succeed in life.

The current scenario of political unrest and horrific violence indicate that the nation fails to implement his policies practically.

So the future of India should be taught that violence can only destroy a nation, can never build a nation.

In today’s political and socio-economic situation strongly implies the people to follow the footsteps of Gandhi Ji to lead a peaceful and harmonious life.

So, people should be inspired by Gandhi Ji's life and words in true sense to make a bright and peaceful future in every aspect of life.
