Unit I :Diversity of Living Organisms

Chapter 01 : The Living World



The concept of living is explained. Biodiversity; the need for classification; the three realms of life; the definition of species and taxonomy; nomenclature binomial.


Chapter 02 : Biological Classification



Lichens, Viruses, and Viroids; Five kingdom classification; Monera, Protista, and Fungi into major groups.


Chapter 03 : Plant Kingdom



Algae, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, and Gymnospermae, are the main groups of plants, with Algae, Bryophyta, Pteridophyta, and Gymnospermae as subgroups.


Chapter 04 : Animal Kingdom



Non-chordates group is classified up to the phyla level, and chordates are classified


Unit II : Structural Organization in Animals and Plants

Chapter 05 : Flowering Plant Morphology



Flowering Plant Morphology, Inflorescence, and Flower Morphology Solanaceae or Liliaceae is the first family's name ( including parctical)


Chapter 06 : Anatomy of Flowering Plants



It consists of simple tissues such as parenchyma, collenchyma and sclerenchyma. Parenchymatous cells are usually present in cortex, pericycle, pith and medullary rays, in the primary stems and roots. In leaves, the ground tissue consists of thin-walled chloroplast containing cells and is called mesophyll.


Chapter 07 : Structural Organisation in Animals



The concepts of Animal tissues are explained in this Chapter


Unit III : Cell: Structure and Function

Chapter 08 :Cell-The Unit of Life



Class 11 Biology Syllabus, the chapter is structured in several parts. It includes, eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells; cell membrane; cell envelope, cell wall; Animal cell and plant cell; cell organelles - structure and function.


Chapter 09 : Biomolecules



Biomolecules, protein structure and function, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids; Enzymes: forms, properties, and enzyme action.


Chapter 10 : Cell Cycle and Cell Division



In ncert syllabus for class 11 biology Cell cycle, meiosis, mitosis and their significance are explained.


Chapter 11 : Transport in Plants



Several processes such as translocation, absorption, storage, and utilization of water are explained in this chapter of class 11 biology.


Chapter 12 : Mineral Nutrition



The topics like hydroponics, the role of macronutrients and micronutrients, and deficiency symptoms of essential elements are covered.


Unit-IV : Plant Physiology

Chapter 13 : Photosynthesis in Higher Plants



Photosynthesis is a source of autotrophic nutrition; photosynthesis site; photochemical and biosynthetic phases of photosynthesis, the basic concept is explained.


Chapter 14 : Respiration in Plants



Gas exchange, anaerobic and aerobic cellular respiration; energy relationships are introduced in CBSE biology class 11.


Chapter 15 :Plant Growth and Development



The lesson include details of growth regulators including auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin, ethylene, and ABA are here in this class 11 biology textbook.


Unit-V : Human Physiology

Chapter 16 : Digestion and Absorption



The structure of the human digestive system is analyzed in this chapter of CBSE class 11 biology.


Chapter 17 : Breathing & Exchange of Gases



Respiratory organs in animals and humans; breathing mechanisms and control in humans - exchange of gases, respiratory volume, gas transport and regulation; respiratory disorders – emphysema, asthma, occupational respiratory disorders


Chapter 18 : Body Fluids & Circulation



Blood composition, blood types, and coagulation; lymph composition and function; human circulatory system - the structure of the heart and blood vessels; cardiac cycle, cardiac production, ECG; double circulation; cardiac activity regulation; circulatory system disorders.


Chapter 19 : Excretory Products & their Elimination



Ammonotelism, ureotelism, and uricotelism; atrial natriuretic factor and renin-; human excretory system – structure and function; urine formation, osmoregulation; ADH, and diabetes insipidus; involvement of other organs in excretion; disorders.


Chapter 20 : Locomotion & Movement



Skeletal muscle, contractile proteins, and muscle contraction in 11th ncert biology are explained.


Chapter 21 : Neural Control and Coordination



The nervous system in humans - central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, and visceral nervous system; nerve impulse production and conduction.


Chapter 22 : Chemical Coordination & Integration



Human endocrine system - hypothalamus, pituitary, pineal, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreas, and gonads; hormone action mechanism (elementary idea); hormones as messengers and regulators.
